FDA authorizes Florida plan to import prescription drugs from Canada

The FDA on Friday authorized a drug importation plan for Florida’s Agency for Health Care Administration that will enable the state to import prescription drugs from Canada, according to an agency news release.
Florida, the first U.S. state to gain approval from the FDA to import prescription drugs under section 804 of the Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act, was authorized to import specific drugs from Canada for 2 years.
