VIDEO: Parsons shares ‘pearls’ for treatment of subscapularis tears

WAILEA, Hawaii — At Orthopedics Today Hawaii, Bradford O. Parsons, MD, shared his tips for the diagnosis and treatment of subscapularis tears.
He said one key is not to miss subscapularis tears on the physical exam.
“You want to do that belly-press test. If the arm is weak when they try to hold their hand on the stomach, you want to make sure that arm stays good and strong,” Parsons said. “Look at the imaging and make sure you don’t see that bicep subluxated. That is a hallmark of subscap tears.”
